Meredith Miller -- Artist’s History -- 2006

Meredith Miller paints dreams. Her heart emanates an energy unlike any other, and this energy is made visual and felt through her paintings. One of the great visionary artists, Meredith brings a beautiful message in a troubled world. One of peace, sustainability…and hope.

Raised in the mountain wilderness of Oregon with no neighbors or electricity, the primary forest became her playground. As a young child, Meredith embarked on her own private journey, putting to color the wonderment of her very own enchanted world. With paper, paints and bits of nature, she began creating images full of texture and light at an early age.

From these beginnings, Meredith Miller knew that she was meant to express as an artist. After graduating from high school, she attended Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Here she developed a solid foundation and a sense of worth about her paintings that have stayed with her ever since.

Many of Meredith’s paintings are inspired by her travels. She has collected materials from such places as Egypt, Greece, Israel, Machu Picchu, Glastonbury, Stonehenge, Guatamala, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii, the South African bush, and other sacred sites throughout the world. These materials are used as texture elements in her work. Sand from many of the sacred Egyptian, Incan, Aztec and Druid temples can be found in numerous pieces she has created. Meredith believes that the vibrational energy from the temples is very much alive in the sand, adding a rare and unique element. Through the practice of radionics, ceremony and prayer, she also uses shavings, crystals, ashes and powders to make each painting or lithograph carry a life and magic of its own.

The paintings come true and bless many of her collectors. They seem to portend a coming future, the people, the images, new relationships, and even the exact scenes. More than merely paintings, Meredith partners with others to call forward their dreams to manifest.

Meredith has made her living as a full-time artist for more than forty years. She has won several awards such as first prize in the Coconut Grove Art Show in Florida. Her paintings hang in thousands of places throughout the world. She has done covers for and illustrated several books, including her husband Brian O’Leary’s Miracle in the Void, featuring her masterpiece The Last Supper of Gaia, depicting in great detail the anguish and hope for the Earth.

Meredith and Brian have co-created Montesueños, or Mountain Dreams, in the Andes of southern Ecuador. This serves as a gallery, studio and workshop setting for Meredith’s works. Visitors have exclaimed, “Montesueños is the most beautiful spot I have ever seen on Earth”, “This should be on the cover of Architectural Digest”, “This is one of the most creative centers on the planet”. By word of mouth, Montesueños is becoming a premier retreat site for peace, sustainability, the arts and new science.

Meredith is available to give slide shows and workshops, as well as take on apprenticeships and commissioned works.
